Campimetry

Visual campimetry is a test used to value the alterations in the visual field (the area the eye is able to perceive while it focuses on a central spot).

What is it useful for?

It is used to detect any kind of loss of peripheral vision. Besides, it maps such loss, and this way it guides and helps in the diagnosis of certain pathologies (glaucoma, retina diseases, injuries in optical pathway, etc.).

Recommendations for this test:

  • Be at the information counter 30 minutes before the appointment.
  • Bring a copy of your medical records.
  • Bring either an updated written eyeglass prescription, or your actual glasses or contact lenses, to apply a lensometry at the clinic.
  • If it is for blepharoplasty, two consecutive appointments should be scheduled: one, to take the test with micropore, and the other one, without micropore.
  • Don’t take the test if you are unrested or haven’t slept well.
