Otorhinolaryngology

Otolaryngology, whose official full name is otolaryngology and head and neck surgery, is the medical-surgical specialty in charge of studying ear diseases. It deals both with hearing and with balance related diseases, as well as with disorders both in the upper, and in part of the lower airways (nose, paranasal sinuses, pharynx and larynx). It is also in charge of surgery related to the thyroid gland. Traumatological, oncological, plastic, and aesthetic surgeries are included in the scope of this specialty, as well as restorative surgeries of face and neck.

Nevertheless, surgical pathology of teeth, gums, tongue, jaw and maxillary bone correspond both to the odontologist and the maxillofacial surgeon (in some cases, their specific competences may overlap). We currently have three otolaryngologists in our Clinic.
